Ingredients

Explanation

Xing Ren: Facilitating the flow of the lung-Qi to promote the function of the upper-Jiao.

Yi Yi Ren: Being insipid in flavor and slightly cold in nature, mildly inducing diuresis to remove dampness so as to dredge the lower-Jiao.

Hua Shi: Inducing diuresis to remove damp-heat.

Fang Ji: Expelling wind and removing dampness.

Lian Qiao: Clearing heat and removing toxicity, dispersing wind-heat.

Zhi Zi: Purging pathogenic heat.

Ban Xia: Removing dampness, eliminating phlegm, checking upward adverse flow of Qi and arresting nausea.

Can Sha: Dispelling wind-damp, removing dampness for harmonizing stomach.

Chi Xiao Dou Pi: Inducing diuresis and alleviating edema, removing toxin and draining pus, excreting dampness.

The Effect of Xuanbi Tang

Effect

Clear heat and eliminate dampness, dredge meridians and relieve arthralgia.

Indications

Rheumatic arthritis due to damp-heat.

Administrations

Decoct in water for oral dose to be taken three times a day.
