The Effect of Xinjia Xiangru Yin
Removing summer-heat by inducing diaphoresis, clearing away heat and eliminating dampness.
Syndrome of early summer fever complicated by exogenous cold, marked by fever, headache, aversion to cold, absence of sweat, thirst, flushed Face, oppressed sensation in the chest, whitish greasy tongue coating, and floating rapid pulse; including common cold due to summer-heat and dampness with the above symptoms. "Absence of sweat" is the essential point for the application of this prescription when it is adopted to treat the syndrome due to summer-heat complicated by exogenous cold. If the syndrome is caused by mere summer-heat and manifested as fever and sweating, this prescription can not be used dispite of the existence of the symptom aversion to cold.
