The drug is the dried root or whole herb of Calanthe puberula Wall. ex Lindl. (Family Orchidaceae), growing under woods or on grassy slopes, and distributed in Anhui, Hunan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and Tibet of China.

Property
Pungent, sweet, neutral.
Actions
Moisten the lung and relieve cough, activate blood and dissipate nodule, eliminate swelling and remove toxicity.
Indications
Acute and chronic bronchitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, lymphoid tuberculosis, snake bites, traumatic injury, haemorrhoids.
Dosage and Administrations
Decoct 3~9 g, or soaked in wine. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded for applying.
