Ingredients
- Shan Yao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae) 30 g,
- Huang Qi (Radix Astragali) 15 g,
- Zhi Mu (Rhizoma Anemarrhenae) 15 g,
- Wu Wei Zi (Fructus Schisandrae) 9 g,
- Tian Hua Fen (Radix Trichosanthis) 9 g,
- Ji Nei Jin (Endothelium Corneum Gigeriae Galli) 6 g,
- Ge Gen (Radix Puerariae) 4.5 g.
Explanation
Shan Yao: Reinforcing the spleen and consolidating the kidney so as to reduce the times of urination, promoting the production of body fluids to moisten the lung and relieve thirst, the first principal drug.
Huang Qi: Elevating Yang, invigorating Qi, assisting the spleen-Qi in going upward to conduct its action of distributing essence to the lung, the second principal drug.
Zhi Mu, Tian Hua Fen: Nourishing Yin, moistening dryness, relieving cough.
Ji Nei Jin: Assisting the spleen in transportation and transformation, promoting digestion and the production of body fluids, consolidating the kidney to control emission.

Effect
Invigorating Qi, promoting the production of body fluids, moistening dryness, relieving thirst.
Indications
Syndrome due to failing to distribute body fluids adequately because of diabetes, deficiency of the kidney and dryness in the stomach, marked by thirst with strong desire for drinking, frequent urination with profuse urine, or turbid urine, sleepiness, lassitude, shortness of breath, reddened tongue with little coating, and weak thready pulse; including such diseases with the above symptoms as diabetes and diabetes insipidus.
