Ingredients

Explanation

Ban Xia: Removing dampness, eliminating phlegm, checking upward adverse flow of Qi and arresting nausea.

Sheng Jiang: Being pungent in flavor and warm in nature, assisting Gui Zhi in expelling pathogenic factors from the muscles and skin, warming the stomach to prevent vomiting.

Zhi Gan Cao: Supplementing Qi and regulating the stomach, together with Gui Zhi aiding in expelling the pathogenic factors from the muscles and skin, together with Shao Yao replenishing Yin, tempering the actions of all the other ingredients.

Ze Qi: Promoting diuresis, eliminating phlegm and removing toxicity.

Gui Zhi: Being pungent and sweet in flavor and warm in nature, expelling pathogenic factors from the muscles and skin by means of diaphoresis, warming the channels to dispel pathogenic cold.

Huang Qin: Clearing heat and removing toxicity.

Bai Qian: Directing qi downward and eliminating phlegm, relieving cough and dyspnea.

Zi Wan: Moistening the lung to resolve phlegm and relieving cough.

Ren Shen: Powerfully reinforcing original qi, tonifying zang-organ qi, promoting the generation of body fluid to alleviate thirst.

Indications

Water retention, cough with deep pulse, edema and difficult urination.

Administrations

Decoct in water for oral dose to be taken 4 times a day.
