The Effect of Radix Akebiae

Property

Bitter, neutral; liver and kidney meridians entered.

Actions

Expel wind, dredge meridians, induce diuresis, resolve swelling, stimulate the flow of qi, activate blood.

Indications

Rheumatic arthritis, traumatic injury, snake and insect bites, difficult urination, hernia, leucorrhea, amenorrhea, abdominal distension, swelling and pain of testicles.

Dosage and Administrations

Decoct 9~15 g, or pounded into juice or soaked in wine. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded for applying with the fresh.

Cautions

It is contraindicated in case of diarrhea caused by spleen-deficiency.
