The Effect of Niu Dan

Property

Bitter, extremely cold; liver, gallbladder and lung meridians entered.

Actions

Clear heat and improve eyesight, remove toxicity and resolve swelling, promote bile secretion and relax the bowel.

Indications

Jaundice, infantile convulsion, sores, diabetes, constipation, haemorrhoids, eye disease caused by wind-heat.

Dosage and Administrations

It is made into powder or pills for oral taking. Proper dosage is for external application, applying its juice on the affected area or used as eye drops.

Cautions

It is contraindicated in case of deficiency-cold in spleen and stomach and eye disease without wind-heat syndrome.
