Dazhong(KI4,大钟) is an acupuncture point in the meridian named Shaoyin Kidney Meridian of Foot. It is the Luo-connecting point of the kidney.

Location

On the posterio-inferior part of the medial malleolus, approximately 0.5 cun posterior to the midpoint of a line drawn from Taixi(KI3) to Shuiquan(KI5), on the anterior border of the Achilles tendon.

Indication

  • ①Dementia;
  • ②Retention of urine, enuresis, constipation;
  • ③Irregular menstruation;
  • ④Hemoptysis, asthma;
  • ⑤Pain in the lower back, pain in the heel.

Method

Puncture perpendicularly 0.3-0.5 inch. Moxibustion is applicable.
