Ingredients
- Xuan Fu Hua 9 g,
- Ma Huang 9 g,
- Qian Hu 9 g,
- Jing Jie Sui 12 g,
- Gan Cao 3 g,
- Ban Xia 3 g,
- Chi Shao 3 g,
- Sheng Jiang 9 g,
- Da Zao 1 date.
Explanation
Xuan Fu Hua: The principal drug, descending the adverse flow of Qi to remove phlegm and stop hiccup.
Ma Huang: Relieving superficies syndrome by means of diaphoresis, facilitating the flow of the lung-Qi to stop asthma.
Ban Xia: Dispersing accumulation of pathogens, letting the adverse flow of the stomach-Qi go downwards to arrest vomiting.
Chi Shao: Removing heat in the blood and promoting the circulation of blood.
Qian Hu: Dispelling phlegm and directing qi downward, dispersing wind-heat.
Jing Jie Sui: Dispelling wind and release exterior.
Da Zao: Invigorating the spleen-Qi, relieving the liver depression, treating deficiency of
the heart.
Sheng Jiang: Being pungent in taste and warm in nature, dispersing accumulation of pathogens, regulating the stomach to arrest vomiting.
Gan Cao: Clear heat and remove toxicity.
The Effect of Jin Feicao San
Effect
Dispel wind-cold, direct qi downward and resolve phlegm.
Indications
Cough with excessive phlegm, fever with aversion to cold, snuffle with runny nose, common cold with cough, whitish and slimy coating on the tongue, floating pulse.
Administrations
Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
