The Effect of Jiao Mu

Property

Bitter, pungent, warm, slightly toxic; spleen and bladder meridians entered.

Actions

Promote diuresis and resolve swelling, eliminate phlegm and relieve dyspnea.

Indications

Asthma, edema, abdominal distension.

Dosage and Administrations

Decoct 2~5 g, or pounded into powder, 1.5 g, or made into pill, tablet or capsule. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded for applying with vinegar.

Cations

It is contraindicated in case of yin deficiency with effulgent fire.
