The drug is the dried or fresh whole herb of Lepidigrammitis drymoglossoides(Bak. )Ching(family Polypodiaceae), growing on the moist shady rocks in ravines, along streams, and distributed in most part of China.

The herb contains flavons, alkaloids, phytosterols, amino acids, saccharides.

Actions
It is used to clear away toxic heat, dispel dampness and resolve phlegm; for the treatment of sore, carbuncles, sore throat, lymphadenitis, mumps, traumatic injury, cholecystitis, lithiasis of ureter, rheumatic arthritis.
Dosage and Administrations
Decoct 15~30 g. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded for applying.
