Explanation
Da Huang: The principal drug, being good at sweeping out pathogenic heat by relaxing the bowels.
Mang Xiao: Dispelling heat, softening masses, aiding Da Huang in removing accumulations.
Ting Li Zi: Purging lung heat and induce diuresis to alleviate edema.
Xing Ren: Moistening intestines for relaxing bowels.
