Da Sha Ye (Folium Pavettae Hongkongensis)

Sources

The drug is the dried or fresh root, stem or leaf of Pavetta hongkongensis Brem. (Family Rubiaceae), growing on hillside, roadsides, edge of woods or in sparse woods, distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Guizhou and Yunnan of China.

Constituents

The herb contains y-sitosterol, quercus alcohol A1. Leaf contains flavonoid glucoside, amino acid carbohydrate.

The Effect of Da Sha Ye

Property

Pungent, bitter, cold; heart and spleen meridians entered.

Actions

Clear heat and remove toxicity, activate blood and dissipate stasis.

Indications

Cold and fever, heliosis, hepatitis, sores, scabies and traumatic injury.

Dosage and Administrations

Decoct 15~30 g.
