Property
Bitter, pungent, cool, toxic; liver and heart meridians entered.
Actions
Dispel wind and eliminate dampness, dredge meridians to alleviate pain, disperse swelling to alleviate pain, remove toxicity and kill parasites.
Indications
Rheumatoid arthritis, leprosy, nodules due to damp-heat, tumor.
Dosage and Administrations
Decoct for 1~2 hours; made into syrup or extract tablet; pounded into powder for capsules, 0.5~1.5 g per time, three times a day. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded into powder or made into ointment or tincture for applying.
Cations
It should be used very carefully for oral taking because it is with strong toxicity. It must be less than half an hour for external application, or it will cause blister.
