Changqiang(GV1,长强) is an acupuncture point in the meridian named Governor Vessel. It is the Luo-Connecting, crossing point of GV,CV,GB and KI meridians.( GV meridian: Governor Vessel; CV meridian: Conception Vessel; GB meridian: Shaoyang Gall Bladder Meridian of Foot; KI meridian: Shaoyin Kidney Meridian of Foot)

Location

On the posterior midline, below the tip of the coccyx, in the kneeling or knee-chest position, the middle point between coccyx and anus.

Indication

  • ①Diarrhea, dysentery, hematochezia, constipation, hemorrhoid, proctoptosis;
  • ②epilepsy and mania ;
  • ③pain in the lower back.

Method

Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-0.1 inch. Moxibustion is applicable.
