The Effect of Ku Zhi

Property

Bitter, sour, cold.

Actions

Clear heat, induce diuresis, remove toxicity and resolve swelling.

Indications

Edema, sore throat, cough caused by lung-heat, cold, deep-rooted boil, pemphigus, dysentery, jaundice caused by damp-heat, swelling and aching of gum, stranguria caused by heat.

Dosage and Administrations

Decoct 15~30 g, or pounded into juice. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded for applying or decocted for washing.

Cautions

It is contraindicated to pregnant women.
