Property
Pungent, cool; liver, lung, stomach and large intestine meridians entered.
Actions
Cool blood and stop bleeding, clear heat and eliminate dampness, remove toxicity and resolve swelling.
Indications
Jaundice, cough, cold, sor throat, sores and boils, erysipelas, nose bleeding, infantile malnutrition, edema, bloody stranguria, hematemesis, traumatic bleeding, haemorrhoids, stranguria with turbid discharge, pharyngitis, metrohorrhagia, metrostaxis.
Dosage and Administrations
Decoct 10~30 g, or 30~60 g of the fresh product, or take the juice. Proper dosage is for external application. Pounded for applying or decocted for washing.
Cautions
It is contraindicated to pregnant women.
