Ciliao

Ciliao(BL32,次髎) is an acupuncture point in the meridian named Taiyang Bladder Meridian of Foot.

Meaning

Ci, second; liao, foramen.
The point is at the second posterior sacral foramen.

Location

The midpoint of the line connecting Pangguangshu and the lower border of the spinous process of the 2nd sacral vertebra.

Indication

• 1.main point of the urinary system: cystitis, retention, enuresis, etc.
• 2.main point for diseases of the genital system: impotence, spermatorrhea, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, prolonged labor, etc.
• 3.pain of the local area.
• 4.main point of the acupuncture anaesthesia in the lower abdomen.

Method

Puncture perpendicularly 1-1.5 cun, but not too deep lest the sacral nerve be hurt.
