Ingredients

Explanation

Zhu Sha: Being sweet in taste and cold and heavy in nature, tranquilizing the mind.

Huang Qi: Invigorating Qi and tonifying the spleen and stomach.

Chuan Xiong and Dang Gui: Promoting the circulation of blood and tonifying blood.

Fu Ling: Strengthening the spleen and inducing diuresis so as to promote the elimination of phlegm.

Bai Zi Ren: Tonifying heart and inducing tranquilization, moistening intestines for relaxing bowels.

Suan Zao Ren: Being sweet and sour in taste and neutral in nature, nourishing the liver-blood and calming the mind.

Yuan Zhi: Calming heart and inducing tranquilization, dispelling phlegm for resuscitation, curing abscess and relieving swelling.

Wu Wei Zi: Astringing the Lung to relieve cough.

Rou Gui: Reinforcing fire and strengthening yang, dispelling cold to alleviate pain, warming meridians and collaterals.

Ban Xia Qu: Relieving cough and eliminating phlegm.

Dang Shen: Invigorating lung-qi and spleen-qi, nourishing blood, and promoting the generation of body fluid.

Zhi Gan Cao: Tempering the actions of all the ingredients.

Effect

Tonify qi and blood, induce tranquilization.

Indications

Insomnia, palpitation, amnesia, dreaminess, deficiency cold in heart qi.

Administrations

Zhu Sha is refined with water into very fine powder. All the other drugs are ground into fine powder. The powder is mixed and then made with honey into pills.
