Property

Bitter, slightly astringent, cool, slightly toxic.

Actions

Clear heat and remove toxicity, alleviate pain, stop bleeding, regulate menstruation.

Indications

Nose bleeding, irregular menstruation, hematemesis, dysentery, hematochezia, gastritis, enteritis, tonsillitis, urinary tract infection, functional uterine bleeding for oral taking; traumatic injury and traumatic bleeding for external application.

Dosage and Administrations

Proper dosage is for external application, pounded into powder or made into ointment or solution.

Cautions

It is contraindicated to pregnant women.
