The Effect of Ji Dan Hua

Property

Sweet, slightly bitter, cool; lung and large intestine meridians entered.

Actions

Clear heat, eliminate dampness, relieve summer-heat and prevent heatstroke.

Indications

Diarrhea, dysentery, jaundice caused by damp-heat, cough caused by lung-heat, cold with fever.

Dosage and Administrations

Decoct 5~10 g of flowers, or 10~10 g of stem and bark. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded for applying.

Cautions

It is contraindicated in case of cough caused by lung-cold, diarrhea caused by damp-heat, summer-heat and dampness with cold.
