腰阳关

Yaoyangguan(GV3,腰阳关) is an acupuncture point in the meridian named Governor Vessel.

Location

On the midline of the lower back, in the depression below the spinous process of the 4th lumbar vertebra(L4) .

Indication

• ①Pain in the lumbo-sacral and coccygeal area, paraplegia;
• ②irregular menstruation, leukorrhea with a red/white discharge;
• ③nocturnal emissions, impotence, and other male diseases.

Method

Perpendicular insertion 0.5-1 cun upward. Moxibustion is always applied.
