The drug is the dried or fresh whole herb of Pogostemon auricularius (L.) Hassk. (Family Labia tae), growing in swampy lands, and distributed in Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan of China.

Actions

Expel wind and clear heat, eliminate dampness and remove toxicity, resolve swelling and alleviate pain.

Indications

Eczema, snake bites, hernia, infantile convulsion, rheumatic arthritis, fever with common cold, ileotyphus, infantile eczema, sores.

Dosage and Administrations

Decoct 10~30 g. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded for applying or decocted for washing.
