天突

Tiantu(CV22,天突) is an acupuncture point in the meridian named Conception Vessel. It is the crossing point of CV and yin link vessel.

Location

In the center of the suprasternal fossa.

Indication

Cough, asthma, chest pain, sore throat, acute aphonia, and other lung diseases;
②goiter, globus hystericus, dysphagia.

Method

First do a perpendicular insertion 0.2-0.3 cun, then redirect the needle tip inferiorly along the posterior aspect of the sternum for 1-1.5 cun. The depth and angle should be focused on, in order to avoid njuring the lung and related arteries and veins.
