Ingredients

Explanation

Fu Zi: The principal drug, being pungent and sweet in flavor and extreme heat in nature, warming up Yang-Qi, dispelling pathogenic cold.

Xi Xin: Expelling pathogenic cold, resolving masses.

Da Huang: Relaxing the bowels to sweep away the stagnancy of food or other pathogenic factors.

Effect

Warming up Yang-Qi dispersing pathogenic cold resolving masses, eliminating accumulation.

Indications

Syndrome due to cold accumulation of excess type in the interior, marked by abdominal pain, constipation, pain in the hypochondrium, fever, cold limbs, whitish greasy tongue coating and wiry tense pulse; including such diseases with the above symptoms as chronic dysentery uremia, ulcerative colitis, acute intestinal obstruction, etc.

Administrations

Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken 3 times. Because this prescription is intended to purge warmly, the dosage of Da Huang should be smaller than that of Fu Zi.
