Ingredients
- Xuan Shen (Radix Scrophulariae) 30 g,
- Mai Dong (Radix Ophiopogonis) 24 g,
- Sheng Di (Radix Rehmanniae) 24 g.
Explanation
Xuan Shen: The principal drug in larger dose, nourishing Yin, promoting the production of body fluids, moistening dryness, removing heat.
Mai Dong: Promoting the production of body fluids to moisten dryness.
Sheng Di: Nourishing Yin and removing heat.

Effect
Nourishing Yin, removing heat, moistening dryness, inducing laxation.
Indications
Insufficiency of body fluids, constipation or reoccurrence of the following symptoms 2-3 days after defecation, all due to febrile disease of Yangming, marked by constipation, thirst, reddened and dry tongue, and deep feeble pulse, including such diseases with the above symptoms as intestinal tuberculosis, hemorrhoid, irritable colon, chronic pancreatitis, etc.
Administrations
Decocted in water for oral dose to be taken twice.
