Property

Bitter, astringent, slightly warm; large intestine and kidney meridians entered.

Actions

Induce astringency, stop bleeding and remove toxicity.

Indications

Diarrhea, dysentery, unhealing ulcer, mastitis, infantile hernia, rectocele, hematochezia, haemorrhoids bleeding, orchitis.

Dosage and Administrations

Decoct 3~10 g, or made into pills and powder. Proper dosage is for external application. Stir-bake it and then pound into powder for applying on the affected area.

Cautions

It is contraindicated in case of early stage of dysentery and damp-heat accumulation.
