Property

Bitter, sour, cold; heart, liver, kidney and large intestine meridians entered.

Actions

Clear heat and remove toxicity, stop bleeding.

Indications

Traumatic bleeding, sores and boils, hematemesis, scabies, rubella, erysipelas, dermatitis rhus, polydipsia, dysphoria with smothery sensation, swelling and pain of eyes, urticaria.

Dosage and Administrations

Decoct 15~30 g, or 50~100 g of the fresh, or pounded into juice. Proper dosage is for external application, pounded for applying or decocted for washing.

Cautions

It is contraindicated in case of deficiency cold in the spleen and stomach.
