- Han Lian Cao (Herba Ecliptae) adequate amount
Explanation
Nv Zhen Zi: Being sweet and bitter in taste and cold in nature, nourishing the kidney and tonifying the liver.
Han Lian Cao: Being sweet and sour in taste and cold in nature, nourishing Yin and supplementing vital essence, cooling blood to stop bleeding.
The Effect of Er Zhi Wan
Effect
Tonifying the kidney and nourishing the liver.
Indications
Syndrome due to Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, marked by bitter taste in the mouth, dry throat, dizziness and vertigo, insomnia, dreaminess, soreness and weakness of the loins, flaccidity of' the lower limbs. Nocturnal emission, and early greying of the hair; including such diseases with the above symptoms as neurosism and early greying of the beard and hair.
Administrations
Nv Zhen Zi is steamed until it is done, dried in the air, ground into fine powder, and sifted. Han Lian Cao is decocted in water 3 times for the decoctions, which is condensed into liquid extract, into which an adequate amount of honey is added and stirred evenly. The extract and the powder of Nv Zhen Zi are mixed together into boluses, each of which weighs 15 g. 1 bolus is taken with boiled water each time, twice daily, in the morning and evening.
