The drug is the dried root or flower of Neillia sinensis Oliv. (family Rosaceae) , growing on hill slopes, in valleys and woods, distributed in Henan, Gansu, Shaanxi, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou of China.

It is used to promote diuresis and dispel dampness, to clear away heat and stop bleeding; for the treatment of edema, hemoptysis.

Dosage and Administrations

Decoct 30~60 g.
